Do you enjoy working with your hands? Do you like working as part of a team? Are you looking for a career with a family sustaining wages, healthcare, free access to lifelong training, retirement benefits, and the comradery that comes along with union membership?
The Carpenters Joint Apprentice Committee of Philadelphia & Vicinity, the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, and the General Building Contractors Association, have partnered to offer the Carpenters’ Apprentice Ready Program (CARP). CARP’s goal is to identify and educate motivated Philadelphia County residents that have existing barriers to employment in the building trades.
Classes prepare candidates to complete the intake process for the Philadelphia Carpenter’s Apprenticeship Program and to be successful in the field from day one.
Applicants should possess above average manual dexterity, coordination, and balance. Carpenters work both indoors and outdoors, and the work is physical by nature.
Additional Application Requirements Include:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Participants must be 18 years old or turning 18 before the exam date.
- A Valid Driver’s license is required.
*Passing a drug test is mandatory to begin your apprenticeship with the Philadelphia Carpenters JAC.
** Participation in this program is not a guarantee of employment.
The application period is currently closed and will reopen in late 2021. Complete the form at the link below to be notified when we start recruiting for our 2022 training.
